I'm A Sitting A-Spinnin, Must Be Christmas, Must Be Christmas!!

In my next life... no I'm not coming back AS a spider (don't much like the way fly legs get stuck between my teeth!) Haaamm In my next life I would like to be a writer of songs, so I can write the lyrics to go with the above title. How many Christmases or holidays have you prepared for, that you haven't felt like you were "sitting spinning" ?? Heck a lot of the years I was not only spinning but I also seemed to have one foot pinned to the ground!!! :)

I pretty well have the foot unpinned these days but I have a WAYS to go before I master the spinning part. I mean I have partially started projects all over the house. The Christmas tree on the patio, half decorated candles, half way made treasure boxes, Still catching faeries to put in a jar, necklace on it's way to completion, earrings just started...well you get the idea. I get so far on one project need a crucial or not so crucial item, heck start another one project till you can get the missing items then oh my I need... for this project well that's okay might as well work on this one. Oye it's enough to make a woman crazy (and it won't take much for this woman).

I NEED A FUN BREAK!!!!!!!!!!

Never fear Erin of Treasures Found::Inspiration Is Everywhere, to the rescue!!!!! :) Erin has a bit of a challenge going : "Inspired by" Each week she gives you a different way/place to find inspiration to create a piece of jewelry. This week is Hardware stores, how much fun is that???Each week she will draw a name from the entries for a lovely gift!! Sooooo for my entry to this week's challenge I entered this little necklace.

The chain is some brass chain I bought by the foot, and the chandelier prism is also from the hardware store. I had a couple of those souvenir pins that you always seem to find at the bottom of a jewelry box.

I transferred a picture of an old map onto the prism, added it to the Spanish matador and Chinese water carrier

Then dangled them from one of those ever so chic reading glasses holder pins. And there you have it. Just a bit of fun right smack dab in the middle of 40 unfinished Christmas projects!!! :)
Sometimes a soul just has to step out and play a bit don't you think???!!!!
Okay now where did I put those beads I just had in my hand?? LW have you seen my...........

Have a most audacious today or tomorrow depending on where in the world you are p;)

Lovely, just beautiful. I don't think I can get chandelier prisms at the hardware store here. So - does that mean your hardware store is equivalent to my flea market??

Well, aren't you the clever and creative little dickens! That's just terrific - I can see a companion piece to be used as a tie clip! Actually, I always wear my tie pins on my lapel - but don't tell anybody they're really tie clips!

Tristan - Tie clip? Tie pin? Lapel? What are those? It's been over three years now and I've forgotten that part of the English vocabulary! Ha!!

Looks great - well done!

Thanks for your concern re the bushfires, Pattie....everything is fine here but it is always a looming threat in summer, when you are surrounded by farms etc.

Hey Pattie, how much fun is that?! Very cute, I can see those little guys dancing around as you wear this. Hope your weather is better there than here. We're 33 degrees this morning in sunny CA!
